Receiving a certificate of insurance

Receiving a medical certificate of insurance in Slovakia.

A certificate of insurance in Slovakia is a prerequisite for staying in the country.

If you have received a temporary residence permit and have opened a business in Slovakia, according to the legislation, you must pay for medical insurance and social insurance.

Medical certificate of insurance for foreign citizens is issued and paid for from the moment of state registration. At the same time, social insurance payments are accrued after a certain period of time (at least 6 months) after the registration of the entrepreneur and depend on the amount of total income for the year. This approach makes it possible to strengthen your financial position and only then pay for social insurance.

After obtaining a residence permit and entering data about the entrepreneur into the Commercial register, a foreign citizen is obliged to receive a certificate of insurance within 8 days and register with a medical insurance company.

There are only such companies in Slovakia:

The amount of payment for a medical certificate of insurance is calculated individually and depends on the profit for the previous year. For entrepreneurs who have just registered their business, the minimum amount of deductions is charged in the first year, because there are no data on income and profit yet.
