Making changes to the Commercial register

The procedure for making changes to the Commercial register in accordance with Slovak requirements.

 

The Commercial Register of Slovakia is a public database with information about firms and enterprises of various forms of ownership that are engaged in commercial activities on the territory of the country. It records the following information:

  •     a company name
  •     a legal address
  •     a field of activity
  •     an authorized capital
  •     data about the owners.

Thanks to the electronic commercial register, the Slovak authorities keep records of the activities of firms on their territory. 

 

Making changes to the Commercial register in Slovakia is a mandatory procedure for citizens of the country and foreign citizens if they are engaged in entrepreneurial activity on the basis of a residence permit. 

 

Changes to the Commercial register must be made in the following cases: 

    the location of the company is changing

    there has been a change in the company’s activities

    the name of the company has changed

    the currency / amount of the authorized capital has changed based on the decision of the company’s board members

    there has been a change of the founders of the company.

If the changes are made in the Commercial Code, then the document confirming the provision of a legal address to an individual or a legal entity must be certified by a notary in Slovakia

Where to go to process the documents?

When processing the documents, we accompany you to the Foreign Police Department to submit the application in person.   You can also submit the application in person at the Foreign Police Department at your place of residence if: - you are in Slovakia on the basis of a valid temporary residence permit; - you are in Slovakia on the basis of a valid national visa; - you do not need a visa to stay in Slovakia; - you are the holder of a Certificate of a Slovak living abroad; - you have been granted tolerated residence (acc. to Paragraph 58 section 1, points a-c or section 2)   If you are not in Slovakia, the application is submitted to the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in your country. At the embassy, you have a personal interview for the purpose of a preliminary assessment of the application.
